Quilted Bliss

I love Pinterest!  It’s my one guilty pleasure.

And the section I spend the most time viewing is called Quilted Bliss.

Even if you don’t quilt, have never quilted, will never quilt, these pages hold some of the most beautiful handmade creations you’ll ever see.  It is a feast for the eyes and comfort for the soul.

This unique American art form has endured from generation to generation.  Sadly, however, it is dying off.  Fewer and fewer young people are sewing these days.  And the public school system has all but abandoned this Home Ec curriculum.

It’s so much simpler and easier to go to Walmart and buy some ready-made cheap comforter stamped “Made in China” than produce a one-of-a-kind hand crafted masterpiece.  Our quilting heritage is eroding.

All the more reason to appreciate the efforts of the artisans pinned on the Quilted Bliss pages of Pinterest.  These creations are truly a labor of love.

Enjoy!
